Nadiya Vasylivna Kukosh
18 August 1937 5 December 2020
Born 18 August 1937 in the village of Synihiv, Shepetivka district, Khmelnytskyi region, Ukraine.
In 1957 she finished her tenth year at Krasnostav Secondary School. As a child she loved to paint, and after finishing school she decided to train as an artist.
That same year, 1957, she entered the Vyzhnytsia College of Applied Art in the Carpathian foothills.
In 1961 she continued her studies at the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, in the Department of Clothing Design.
In 1969 she was assigned to teach at the Vyzhnytsia College of Applied Art. She worked there until 1999, and took part in many exhibitions.
Over thirty years of teaching at the college she sent many talented pupils out into the world. Sometimes she received grateful letters from them, learning of their lives. She remembered many of them as students, and it gave her joy to find out how their lives had turned out.
After retirement Nadiya Vasylivna painted a great deal — this was her dream, to paint! Now we can share with you the works and the inner life of a sincere, always-smiling woman who, to her last days, inspired everyone who had the chance to know her.
Nadiya Vasylivna passed away at the age of 83, on 5 December 2020. She is buried in Vyzhnytsia. Bright memory of her will remain in the hearts of everyone whose path ever crossed with this bright Person…
— Her children Vadym, Oksana and Andriy Kukosh
